1000 Awesome things

Hello,

I am a huge fan of 1000 Awesome Things, it always makes me smile, but todays email is: When little kids give you their art work, it's better than half the stuff in a gallery!

Not entirely true at ours!

Example children's artwork...

And here is an image that was on display here in April...

Gerbera Orange by Denise Wheeler

I'm not knocking the little ones, it can be wonderful and if any under 10's do want an exhibition with us, we'd be glad to have them!

Here is the link though if you want to read more Awesome Things..http://1000awesomethings.com/

Hello,

As promised, here is the interview I did with Sophie Gibson, again, while she was hanging the artwork.

Kirsty: Sophie, which is your favourite, cheese toastie or ham toastie?
Sophie: Cheese toastie

Kirsty: Sunshine or Snow?
Sophie: Sunshine

Kirsty: Ice cream or Jelly?
Sophie: Ice cream

Kirsty: Clouds or rainbows?
Sophie: Rainbows

Kirsty: Night owl or early bird?
Sophie: Night owl

Kirsty: What inspires you in three words?
Sophie: Paper, Scissors, Glue

Kirsty: When was the last time you laughed?
Sophie: Today

Kirsty: Who is your favourite artist?
Sophie: Jean-Michel Basquiat (view his work here http://basquiat.com/)

Kirsty: When was the last time you cried?
Sophie: Yesterday

Kirsty: What is your favourite item of clothing?
Sophie: Bad Brains t-shirt

Kirsty: Where can people find out more about your work?
Sophie: At http://www.sophiegibson.co.uk/

Thanks to Sophie (and Charlotte before) for answering my rather random questions! Which will probably change with every artist (suggestions welcome) with the exception of cheese toastie or han toastie as that is possibly the best ice breaker question ever! Well, it always makes people smile and seems to stop the nerves. (Maybe I was exaggerating a little..)

So, here is a picture of Sophie hanging her work.

Next up I will post a few more pictures of their work in situ and later on we will have a selection of the exhibition comments.
